Nutley Half Century Club Cruise to the Caribbean
We had ten participants for our first cruise. Sally Nordstrom French, her husband Bill and friends Nancy and Joe Slater arrived in San Juan Puerto Rico from San Diego early Friday morning on January 25th. Bob and Linda Penett landed later in the day from Pennsylvania. Patty Ludlum and husband Neil flew in on the following day from New Mexico. Paula Brown's flight from New Jersey arrived late afternoon Saturday. She was met at the airport by friend Bob who arrived from Florida.

Our travel agent, Sally, greeted us with bags of goodies, welcome signs and leis. All of our balcony rooms were basically next to each other which made it very easy to coordinate things. By six we were all seated in the main dining room for the first of many a fine dinners together. The food and service were very good. The view was first rate.

The Islands we visited were St. Thomas, St. Martin, Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados. We split up most mornings going on different excursions. Some of the adventures included snorkeling off of sail boats, mountain hikes, bus tours, tree top cable rides, kayaking, swimming and shopping. Each afternoon we would meet on the top deck and hang out around the swimming pool drinking a variety of rum punches. Before dinner every night we would meet at a cocktail lounge for some piano or classical guitar entertainment.

After dinner it was off to the casino, more live music or a stroll around the deck. Every night there was a show in the main theatre. They were all great. One night three of the original Osmond Brothers performed.

We were blessed with great weather. Sunny skies in the low 80's every day.

Thanks again to Sally for arranging the trip. We are looking forward to the next cruise.

...then a glorious day and night of cruising back to San Juan.

I have blocked six inside cabins and ten cabins with a balcony on Deck 8, all together, mid-ship, near an elevator. Cabins must have two passengers.

Cost per person for a cabin with a Balcony: $1164.49 (includes tax/port fees)

Cost per person for an Inside Cabin: $862.49 (includes tax/port fees)

There are some Balcony cabins that can have three guests. If anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll check the rate.

A $500.00 deposit is required to reserve a cabin. We must make reservations for the blocked rooms by May 5th! This is refundable up to 70 days prior to the cruise.  The balance is due in full 70 days prior to sailing. Please call me at (760) 522-3586 to make your reservation now!

Regarding air travel, Continental Airlines has flights from Newark, non-stop, to San Juan beginning at $267.00. You can book your flight directly by visiting our website, or call me and I can check for rates and schedules from your departure city. There is a Sheraton Hotel close to the port that looks nice and would be convenient for arrival a day or two prior to sailing if desired. I’ll look into details. The ship departs at 10PM January 26th and returns to port at 7AM on February 2nd, 2008.

All payments will go through me to Royal Caribbean directly. All passengers are required to have a passport. I will need your name “exactly” as it appears on your passport, your birth date, and your credit card “type, number, and expiration date”. I will also need your home address for mailing your travel documents.  Please call me directly with that information at 760-522-3586. After the deposit is made I’ll send you the confirmation.

I have requested “Main Dining” for our group and we will all be seated together.

Hope to see you on the cruise!

Our website is a great way to check out the cruise, read about the ports of call, and the beautiful Serenade of the Seas.
